Chlorophyll - Giving More Life to All Living Things

The first scientific truth I remember learning from elementary science is that chlorophyll is responsible for plants' green color. Since then, I have learned many valuable truths about chlorophyll's life-enhancing nutrients, including the antioxidants all living organisms need to thrive.

As a child, it was frustrating when my parents served lettuce and carrots with almost every meal. But they did that because their kids didn't like green beans, broccoli, spinach, or celery. So they had to find a way to get us kids to eat veggies. (We called it all 'Salad Stuff.')

Me: "May I please be excused?"
Dad: "Did you eat salad stuff?"
Me: "I had some carrots and a little piece of lettuce."
Dad: "Eat two or three more lettuce leaves, the big ones, and take a handful of sprouts."

I didn't know then that he was trying to ensure his kids' bodies were filled with chlorophyll, and I didn’t understand why it mattered.

What does chlorophyll do for the human body? It provides vitamins A, C, E, and K and contains magnesium, calcium, and iron. Our bodies need these nutrients to combat various culprits that cause us to be less than our best healthy selves, like these:

Acne, Aging
Lousy breath, Body odor
Cancer cells, Constipation
Inflammation
Large pores, Low mood
Poor digestion
Redness of the skin
Worsening vision, Weight gain

Instead of listing more negative effects caused by a lack of sufficient chlorophyll, let's consider specific ways chlorophyll can help us live full and healthy lives.

Chlorophyll can assist with weight loss by talking positively to the thyroid gland when balancing the hormones, which helps us feel fuller after eating. It can also help us control cravings! As with any healthy choice, it's essential to be consistent and self-monitor your progress. However, one person may find they only need to begin daily intake of chlorophyll to begin enjoying a release of excess weight. In contrast, another may only succeed once other lifestyle changes are habitually in place.

Chlorophyll helps rid us of intolerable odors in our sweat, breath, and waste elimination. It allows the liver to remove toxins from our digestive system. Chlorophyll also stops bacteria growth and aids skin wounds in quicker healing to avoid infections. When our skin or bodies are inflamed, chlorophyll rushes in to tell the inflammation to 'get on with it' in each area that needs healing. This means those suffering from arthritis can enjoy soothing relief from chlorophyll because it reduces swelling in the joints.

If your red blood cells are weak or lacking, chlorophyll will bring oxygen-rich nutrients to generate stronger cells. This is needed in those of us with anemia. If we are anemic, our organs can begin to shut down one by one. There’s a lot we can do to prevent such outcomes!

Chlorophyll also enhances liver function by pulling harmful contaminants from our food. It also helps to detoxify environmental junk that finds its way to the insides of our bodies. For our toxin-damaged cells to regenerate properly, they need purposeful help. Consuming enough chlorophyll regularly (daily) will keep the liver clean and happy. Chlorophyll helps the body balance and fight off tumors growing on damaged cells.

One of the most fascinating discoveries about chlorophyll is that it interferes with certain carcinogens that try to grow through absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. When you take your daily dose of chlorophyll, it could be extra influential and meaningful if you visualize the nutrients binding to mutant cells and carrying them out of your body through waste elimination. So, let's take chlorophyll and generate excellent and healthy regenerated cells!

Chlorophyll used to be abundantly available in our leafy plants, but the quality of accessible edible green plant life has decreased. It can be hard to afford enough hormone-free produce to make a healthy difference, and many of us may need to seek another way to consume enough chlorophyll, such as:

Edible plants - romaine lettuce, spinach, chard, kale, mustard greens, sprouts, broccoli, cilantro, basil, dandelion greens,
Liquid (choose a very dark green/almost black, watery formula with no particles)
Powder
Tablets or Capsules (from green and blue algae)
Spray

I recommend pursuing the type and dose of chlorophyll that is most cost-effective and easiest to consume daily. Some liquid chlorophyll products include peppermint to neutralize the chlorophyll + copper + magnesium flavor so it becomes mild or flavorless (and more manageable). It can be mixed into water or juice, or if you choose a powder, you could add it to your smoothies like I do.

Thankfully, my tastes have matured, but I regret the frustrations I caused my parents at mealtimes, as I now enjoy various types of fresh and cooked green plants. I appreciate learning when my body lacks a particular nutrient so I can add it to my regimen. Taking a daily chlorophyll supplement gives me a feeling of better health. I hope that many will come to know the excellent benefits chlorophyll can provide.
