Fire and Despacho Ceremony

  • Home 237 East 7390 South Midvale, UT, 84047 United States (map)

Fire allows for rapid transformation. It provides the avenue to let go of the old story and drama, to transform, to renew and to be reborn. Through fire ceremony, you honor your lessons and old belief structures by placing them in the fire and turning them over to Spirit. By releasing these old patterns and beliefs into the fire, you heal deeply at the level of the soul without having to experience them at the literal and physical levels. Fire ceremony, one of the core ceremonies in many medicine traditions, is typically held around the full or new moon of each month when the veils between the worlds are the thinnest.  Native American tribes once observed the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full moon. Time was not recorded by using the months of the Julian or Gregorian calendar.  April’s full Moon is called the Full Pink Moon, heralding the appearance of the “moss pink,” or wild ground phlox - one of the first spring flowers. Other names include Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon.

A despacho is a prayer bundle or offering. The despacho ceremony can be used for a wide variety of occasions – births, deaths, as an expression of gratitude, to heal physical and emotional ailments, to restore balance and harmony, or when there is a specific request of the spirit world. Similar to a mandala or sacred creation, the despacho holds symbolic elements and the prayers of the participants. As the elements are added to the despacho, the vibration of the participants raises. The despacho becomes a living prayer that brings energy shifts and healing to the participants, others, and the planet.

For the April ceremony we will be celebrating NEW BEGINNINGS. Spring is a time of preparing the soil and planting seeds. Our focus for the Spring Awakening Despacho will be preparing ourselves to "plant" something new in our lives.  By calling it in energetically, it can bud and grow for us onto the Earth plane.  What would you like to plant for yourself at this time in your life? Maybe a new job or romantic partnership; perhaps a new way of relating to your current co-workers or partnership.  Let's also plant seeds for our All Our Relations and for Mother Earth. Please bring your prayers and intentions for the seeds you'd like to plant for yourself, your "family" and for our Mother Earth.  The rest will be provided.
